Fix buttons with no text in Shopify
Icon buttons (menu, search, cart, slider arrows) need names in the theme code.

- Check the sample element in your dashboard. It usually shows an icon button such as the menu toggle, search, close, quantity plus and minus, or slider arrows.
- Update your theme to its latest version first. Shopify's own themes label these buttons, and older or customized copies sometimes lost the labels.
- If it's still failing, the label is missing in the theme code. In Online Store > Themes, click ... > Edit code and add an
aria-labelto the button, for example:
<button type="button" aria-label="Open menu">…</button>
- Not comfortable editing code? Send the sample element to your theme developer, or use the "Copy prompt" button for a developer or AI coding tool.
- Third-party app widgets (reviews, chat, upsells) are fixed by the app developer. Report the issue to them.
Check it: publish your change, then run a new scan from your dashboard. The issue should drop off the list.
