Fix guides / Links with no text / WordPress

Fix empty links in WordPress

Add alt text to linked images and labels to icon links.

Checked against WordPress's help docs on 2026-10-09. Menu names can change; the source links below have the latest steps.

  1. Check the sample element in your dashboard to see which link has no text.
  2. Linked images (logo, banners, image blocks with a link): give the image alt text that says where the link goes.
  3. Social Icons block: select each icon and fill in its Label in the sidebar (for example "Instagram").
  4. Theme or page-builder icons (cart, account, social): look for a label option in the theme or builder widget. If there isn't one, ask the theme developer or have a developer add an aria-label.
  5. Avoid links that wrap nothing but an icon font or an empty <a> tag left over from old content.

Check it: publish your change, then run a new scan from your dashboard. The issue should drop off the list.
